Term 3 Week 4Sec 3E EL Straits Times Blogging WEEK 41) Pg 4: Her world’s a stage
Reflection Questions:
Do you consider yourself an artistic person?
What are your opinions of the theatre scene in Singapore?
Maybe? :D
I do know how to draw simple pictures.
Especially copying the drawings of what someone has drawn.
And it look quite similar too! :D
But this doesn't make myself as an artistic person.
To me, an artistic person is someone who can draw fascinating pictures and from the picture, you will probably get to know what the artist is trying to express his feelings.
Mostly, i think that an artistic person is someone who can draw sceneries and people well. :O
------------------------------------------------------
For my opinions of the theatre scene in Singapore..
Actually, i don't usually get to have the time to buy a ticket and sit down there in the theatre to watch a scene, performance or a play there.
But, i can only say that the people performing on the stage had actually put in a lot of time and effort in their performance. (:
That is what most of the people said that, the performance are worthy to be watched.
2) Pg 10: Drink-and-Eat MRT Riders on the rise
Reflection Question:
How do you feel about MRT commuters eating and drinking blatantly on the train?
I felt that the MRT commuters who eat and drink blatantly on the train is a very irresponsible act. ("\(o.o)/")
Can't they see the signs on the train which shows no drinking and eating ? ._."
Or do they don't even bother to see the signs, thinking that it's a "monkey see monkey do thing"?
For example, they saw someone eating. They will also follow what they are doing as they think that it is alright and everyone is also doing so.
Without thinking of the other people's feelings/what others will think.

Article: “All in a day’s work for men in blue.” – ‘HOME’ Section (Pg B4)
Question 1:
What are some reasons stated in the article why some members of the public call the police for?
-
Question 2:
(a) Do you see the job of a policeman as something easy or tough? Why?
(b) Would you consider becoming a policeman or policewoman in future? Why yes or why not?
(a) Based on contextual knowledge as i don't have the newspaper article, i think that the job of a policeman is tough. The reason is, things like accidents or robbers, thefts, are hard to predict when it will take place. And the police have to always be prepared if something like this would happen. Therefore, i think that a job as a policeman is something that is tough.
(b)Maybe not. Though being under the police force need not have to be experienced as people can go through trainings, but i still find it tough to be a policewoman. Maybe one day, your life might be lost because of a serious crime case. And it is not really easy to be qualified to be a policewoman. They must always be alerted. And when there is a call on a crime case, even though the the job for the day has ended, they will still have to put down the things that they are doing and rush up to the crime scene. Therefore, i might not consider of becoming a policewoman in future.

Question 1:
What were some of the reasons cited in the article why there was a need to have parking lots for women only in these buildings? So that women drivers need to get a carpark attendant, stationed at an office next to the lots, to give them access to the lots.
It will also be much more convenient for those women with children that are below tht age of 10.
************************************************************************************Question 2:
a) In your opinion, do you think it is necessary to allocate parking lots for women only? Why?I think that it is not necessary to allocate parking lots for women.
As all the parking lots are available for everyone. And if all the parking lots are available for everyone, why is there a need to allocate parking lots for women only.
For example, if there's such a situation whereby the parking lots which are allocated for women only is empty. And the other parking lots which are available for everyone is full, where shall the guys park their cars? Therefore I think that it is not necessary to allocate parking lots for women only.
b) Which group of people do you then feel should be allocated such priority parking? Explain.
People who have walking difficulties.
The people who have walking difficulties should be allocated with such priority parking and parking lots which are nearest to the lift.
So that it will be much more convinient for them if they were to get to the supermarket to somewhere in time.
If people who have walking difficulties were not allocated with such priority parking, they will need much time to get to the lifts.
And if it happened that the people who are finding a empty parking lot and the people who have walking difficulties are walking at that slow speed blocking their way, wouldn't it be troublesome for people who are in a rush?
